So...I admit, I have been slacking. Things have been so busy at the Robbins' house and time has flown by!! I will try to remember all that has happened since the last post...it's been a while, but here we go!!
Zack had his training trip in Branson in March. He was gone for two weeks, which is always hard, but thankfully it went by really quickly. I was busy with the Anthony's the first week and then the second week I took a trip to San Antonio with my mom and sister for a little girls get-a-way. We had yummy food, got to lay out by the pool for the first time this spring and had a chance to meet some of Rachel Schwind's family at a wedding shower for the then soon to be newlyweds. Then, before I knew it my Zack was home!! The trip for him was an overall success. He stayed in a really cool hotel that was right in the middle of Branson's main "strip". He said there was a fountain right outside his room that had light/music shows every half hour or so...a miniature version of those in Vegas I'm guessing :) He really loves these training trips. He likes the people he is working with and the responsibility that he is given. Also, I have to brag on him for a second...he is doing extremely well at the Woodshed!! One of the employees in the kitchen had decided she wanted to move to the serving floor. She asked her boss who she should speak with about greeting customers...who did the best job basically, and her boss told her that my husband was the best :) Mind you, this is only after a month or so working there! So once again, if you are ever in the Fort Worth area, stop by the Woodshed for lunch and ask for Zack!!
This time was also a hard time for a lot of people. One of my dear, dear friends found out that her six year old daughter has cancer. It will be a long road for sweet Libby and her family, so please pray for their strength and healing. There will be a benefit concert for Libby in June. If anyone has any questions please feel free to email me. In the meantime...go Team Libby.
Moving into April, Zack and I celebrated our first Easter together and one of the loves of my life, Mr. Collin Duwe, came home!! Easter was a little hard because Zack had to work again. We ended up
going to Saturday night service with my grandparents, Josh and his
girlfriend Amy. As for my friend Collin, he had been performing on a Disney Cruise Line for the past nine months and was finally coming home. We got a group of us together and surprised him at the airport. A couple of days later, we met for Blue Mesa happy hour (THE best happy hour in Fort Worth) and went to see TCU's production of Seussical the Musical. It was such a wonderful night catching up with wonderful friends. The next weekend Zack had his annual rafting trip, so I headed down to Sugar Land. I was able to see one of Zane's baseball games and celebrate the bride at Rachel's bachelorette party. (For those of you who don't know, the Gardner/Schwind wedding was set for the first weekend in May.) Zack had a great time with old friends on his trip. He was able to stay an extra day in Chattanooga and got to catch up with some of his groomsmen from the wedding. Before we knew it, April was over!
The first big event that came with May was Cinco de Mayo!!!...aka the second Gardner wedding :) Zack and I took the weekend off to drive down to Round Top, Texas for the festivities. We were excited to get to see the whole family again and enjoy the wedding without having to stress about when the flowers were getting there and who was going to pack the getaway car, etc, etc. The venue was Marburger Farms and the perfect setting for the artist bride. She did a fantastic job and the wedding was beautiful. The ceremony was set down in front of a huge tree with ribbons hanging from the branches and wildflowers everywhere. It was a little warm, but witnessing the love and joy that surrounded that day made every bit of it worth it. We had fajitas for dinner and as usual, my family tore up the dance floor with my dad and uncles leading the pack. It's events like this that remind me what an amazing family I have and how blessed I am. We are crazy people and I love it :)
I think that has pretty much caught us up, hitting the main points. In other news, I am blessed everyday with the amazing husband God has saved for me :). I am blown away by his heart everyday. I recently started a new job and have been not only exhausted, but extremely stressed out. This new job calls for me to be on my feet all day, which has been causing me a lot of pain. Whether it is a long day at work, an emotional day or a night of celebrating, I come home to a hot bath, a bottle of wine, a hot meal, a movie and my wonderful husband grinning from ear to ear. How did I get so lucky?
This summer will hopefully bring lots of exciting things for me and Zack. I am pleased to announce that I will be teaching at the Dallas Theatre Centre!! If you live in the DFW area and have a 4-6 year old interested in theater, send them my way!! It will be a summer full of surprises and laughter and we can't wait!
