Embracing the Holiday Season

Well, Thanksgiving was a little different for us this year.  Because of my show and Zack having to work, we were unable to drive down to Houston to spend the holiday with my family.  Instead, I spent the day with the sweet Anthony family while Zack worked and then we spent a quiet night together at home.  To make up for our simple evening, we had an amazing "Friendsgiving" the following Sunday.  It was wonderful :)  We had some of our best friends over, cooked a turkey, had homemade cranberry sauce, dressing and delicious desserts.  After a long day of cooking and then enjoying, we played some games, drank some wine, and laughed a lot.  The games started out girls vs. boys, and of course, the GIRLS won!!!  We couldn't have asked for a better evening and are so blessed with such wonderful friends.

After that, we jumped right into the Christmas season!!  Zack did an amazing job putting up our first Christmas tree, and we are gradually increasing our ornament collection :)  We started with only a handful and now have a whole treefull!!  We even have our gifts wrapped and placed under the tree!  It has been so much fun decorating for the season, and I will be SO sad when it is time to put them all away.

For the past couple of weeks, I have been performing in Casa Manana's Santa Claus, the Musical.  It has been so rewarding and I am so thankful to have this opportunity.  The people in the cast alone make it worthwhile :)  If you are looking for something to do before Christmas, come on out to the dome!!  Zack has already made it twice!
Christmas can't get here fast enough and there's only one week left until my birthday, but in the meantime we are spending time with friends and family, working our tails off and having the occasional date night to celebrate.  We will be missing the Gardner's this Christmas, but can't wait to drive out to Memphis to see the Robbins'. :)  Sending out blessings and love to all of our loved ones this holiday season.

Introducing Mr and Mrs Robbins!

So, I have seen several of these cute little blogs and thought that it was a great idea!  What better way to update family and friends on our new life together and the wonderful blessings God is bringing us as husband and wife.  I hope that you all enjoy this little glimpse into the Robbins' home!

Can you believe it?  This coming Tuesday will be our one month anniversary!!  We had such a beautiful wedding with all of our friends and family and really felt blessed to be surrounded by so many wonderful people.  The whole week went by so fast!  We were able to spend time with friends that we haven't seen in years, and it was perfect.  Zack's parents did an AMAZING job with the rehearsal dinner, and the small, intimate, outdoor wedding was exactly what we had dreamed of.  Hopefully we will have lots of pictures to show you soon!

After the wedding, we spent an amazing two weeks in Park City, Utah, at my parents beautiful home.  We spent time relaxing, eating, watching movies, traveling, camping and sightseeing.  We drove down to Bryce Canyon where we camped for a night, then we drove over to Zion National Park where we got to do some intense hiking!  You all would have been proud of me :) I was scrambling! (to all of you outdoorsy people who know what I mean, if not look it up, you will be amazed!)  It was unbelievable.  The next week we went north to Jackson Hole/Yellowstone.  It was freezing!  The first morning we woke up, I couldn't put in my contacts because one of them was FROZEN in it's solution.  Needless to say, we got a hotel room for the second night!  Yellowstone was really beautiful, but unfortunately it was so cold that we couldn't really see any of the hot springs through all of the steam.  Hopefully we can go back one day during the summer when it's warmer.  We also carved our first pumpkin together and because we didn't have any trick-or-treaters,  we ended up with a whole bowl of candy to ourselves!  Our time in Utah was beautiful.  We got to see the bright fall colors of the aspens when we first arrived, that then melted away as the snow began to fall.  We woke up several mornings to find the ground covered in snow and loved watching the ski trails get whiter and whiter.  The time away was great, but by the end we were definitely ready to be home.  We wanted to jump into real life and see our friends and family.

As soon as we got home, it was opening presents and trying to get the house in order while jumping back into work!  We had a lot of fun decorating the house and "nesting".  It was so good for me to be back with my Anthony's, Zack back at Silver Fox, and my rehearsals just around the corner.  We needed to be busy again!  So, now we are settling in, working hard and having a ball.  We can't wait for the holidays!!  For those of you interested, I will be in Casa Manana's production of Santa Claus The Musical, running Nov. 25th through Dec. 23rd.  Call for more details or visit their website!

We love you guys and can't wait to continue sharing in this wonderful journey!
Blessings :)
